The Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) is a state Authority created under an Act of Parliament No.35 of 2011, with the mandate of holding the police accountable to the public in the performance of their functions
JOB SUMMARY
Academic qualificationsMaster’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: Law, Public Administration, Criminology, Sociology, Political Science, Social Sciences, Security Studies or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: Law, Public Administration, Criminology, Sociology, Political Science, Social Sciences, Security Studies or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.Professional Qualifications / Membership to professional bodiesProfessional qualification and membership to a professional body where applicable;Leadership course lasting not less than six (6) weeks from a recognized institution.Previous relevant work experience required.Served in the position of Assistant Director in either inspections, monitoring or preventive services for a minimum period of three (3) years at IPOA grade 5 or for a period of twelve (12) years in inspections and monitoring, three (3) of which must have been in a senior management level in the Public or private sector.
