Job Purpose
The Fundraising Manager is responsible for implementing all aspects of fundraising administration including sourcing for funds, donor development, corporate partnerships, merchandising, and customer-centric activities. This role also includes supporting the Executive Director and Board of Trustees in strategic planning and fundraising strategies, as well as improving the development of communications material for the organisation. The position also encompasses strategic, management, and budgeting roles within the department.

Primary Reporting: Founder Executive Director

Department:  Fundraising, PR and Communications
Responsibilities:
Donor Development

Establish and manage an active major gifts program.
Develop and maintain a reliable donor base.
Maintain relationships with existing donors, respond to their requests, and keep them updated on the Foundation's work.
Oversee the writing and submission of funding proposals to potential donors.
Acknowledge donations and write appreciation letters.
Update the donors' database and follow up on donations from potential and active donors.

Corporate Partnerships

Identify companies whose social responsibility focus aligns with the Foundation's work.
Establish relationships with representatives of potential sponsor companies.
Secure cash sponsorship's and establish marketing partnerships by preparing sponsorship proposals.

Merchandising

Source and manage promotional clothing and other merchandise items.
Liaise with manufacturers for branding and delivery.
Manage inventory and ensure opportunities for sales are maximized.

Fundraising Events and Crowdfunding

Organise and attend fundraising events, networking with relevant stakeholders.
Create posters and marketing materials for fundraising events.
Manage the crowdfunding platform.
Sell tickets for fundraising events.

Communications and Marketing

Improve and oversee the development of communications material (brochures, websites, annual reports, posters, etc.).
Write, submit, and upload press releases as required.
Implement a variety of marketing strategies and promotional campaigns.
Develop relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders.
Establish good relationships with staff, members of the public, and the media.

Strategic and Management Roles

Help in building, managing, and coordinating the Fundraising Department team.
Support the Foundation’s Executive Director and Board of Trustees in the development of the organisation’s strategic plan and fundraising strategies.
Develop relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders.
Prepare and manage quarterly and annual budgets for the department.

Administrative Support

Provide overall administrative support to the department.
Conduct research on fundraising opportunities.
Prepare proposals for grants and report on grants.

Qualifications- Academic and Professional and Experience
Bachelors Degree: in Communications & PR, Fundraising or any related field (preferably a master’s degree)

Three (3) to five (5) years of fundraising experience
Previous experience in sales or marketing is also acceptable
Sound knowledge of the non-profit sector
Experience managing a team
Excellent Communication skills
