ABOUT THE COMPANY
Isiolo County is located in the Upper Eastern Region of Kenya and is one of the Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASALs) in Northern Kenya covering approximately 25,700 square kilometers. Given its huge size, the county borders Meru and Tharaka Nithi Counties to the South West, Marsabit County to the North, Samburu and Laikipia Counties to the West, Garissa County to the South East, Wajir County to the North East and Tana River and Kitui Counties to the South. The County has a population of 268,002 and its economic mainstay is pastoralism but blended with crop farming, beekeeping, and recently fish farming.
JOB SUMMARY
This will be the entry and training grade for assistant agricultural officers’ cadre. Duties will involve training and advising farmers on matters related to crop production, land development, planning and management of demonstration plots.Requirements for appointmentFor appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:Kenya certificate of secondary education (KCSE), mean grade C or its equivalent, and Diploma in any of the following fields; agriculture, food technology, agriculture and home economics, agricultural education, horticulture, or any other relevant and equivalent qualification from recognized institution.
