JOB SUMMARY

Primary Reporting:Head of PeopleSecondary Reporting: N/ADepartment: HR DepartmentLocation: NakuruLeadership Pipeline Level: Leader of IndividualsThe role is responsible for leading the delivery of a proactive and customer focused HR Services across Gilanis. This will include implementing the Gilanis Compensation and benefits strategy that will ensure the attraction, retention and development of talent; manage and oversee the execution of all aspects of HR operations and transaction management, including maintenance of people records, employee welfare, and wellness programs.The role holder will be vast in the use of leading practice technology solutions to support the delivery of HR services and be able to effectively leverage analytics and manage data.The role will also be the custodian of HR/people related policies and procedures and ensure compliance of the same.Job Magnitude: Team sizeNumber of employees directly reporting to this job: 3Number of indirect reports (i.e., employees reporting to the direct reports): 0

RESPONSIBILITIES

Key AccountabilitiesDevelop and implement programs, policies, tools and infrastructure to support the Compensation & Benefits and Operations strategy.Manage HR costs - review and approve or modify budgets. Ultimately, ensure all HR initiatives are cost-effective, run smoothly and contribute to a healthy work environment.Conduct Employee Benefits and Salary surveys and benchmarking to ensure market competitiveness.Review the recognition and incentive pay practices and ensure they contribute to the overall People Management agenda.Custodianship of employee Labour relations. Ensure adherence of Labour practice and processes. Lead the development of innovative policies and creative methods of working for wellbeing, employee engagement and related initiatives.Supervise the delivery of end-to-end transactional HR shared services activities related with the employment cycle and ensure effective execution and overall administration.Implement continuous improvement processes to ensure that all HR operational systems and processes are fit for purpose. HR Management Information Systems and data integrity, payroll and employee documentation.Act as a consultant to managers and staff regarding policies and procedures.Advise the Company on the cost-effective operating model that will yield maximum benefits and minimize risks to the Company.Support the change management process across Gilanis, in partnership with rest of HR, Partners, including restructuring, redundancy consultation, variation of contracts and staff transfers.Ensure an adequate mechanism exists for the collection, processing and analysis of people data in line with applicable legal requirements around records retention, privacy, confidentiality access etc.Promote data governance and stewardship within the HR function in order to improve strategic and operational performance insight.
