Summary

Possesses in-depth knowledge of the fleet to drive On Time Performance and healthy Completion Factor.
Principal Accountabilities (Responsibilities)

Co-ordinate all fleet maintenance activities by adequately diagnosing fleet health monitoring systems and reliability data to input the daily work package.

Provide maintenance input to the daily tail assignment in support of network requirements.
Identify required tooling and material requirements for planned non-routine tasks.
Identify maintenance instructions for all defects as tabulated in the work package.
Directing troubleshooting in the event of an AOG or a schedule interruption defect.
Identifying fleet maintenance requirements at the daily maintenance preparation meeting.
Monitoring & management of repeat defects, coordinating with engineering on corrective actions.

Job Requirements
Qualification (Minimum)

Holds an Engineering Diploma or relevant Degree from a recognized institution.
Is current in all mandatory courses, required for area and license as specified.
Has completed required online recurrent training.
Evidence of using Approvals held related to his License.
Minimum 10 years maintenance experience.
Minimum 4 years managing people within a Line / Base/Outstation maintenance environment.
Possess training credentials on various discipline related aircraft standards, regulations, policies and procedures.

Technical Competencies

Ability to monitor, record and investigate non-routine, long-term defects, recurring defects.

Ability to liaise with manufacturers, vendors and other sections to investigate and obtain data to ensure rectification of non-routine, long term defects and repeat defects.

Consistently follows policies and procedures when resolving problems sticking to agreed plans and priorities.
Can manage own time and workload effectively whilst adapting to the needs of team members.
Seeks and acts upon feedback about own performance.
Sets deadlines and organizes workload to meet them.
Proactively finds out how KQ and in particular, Technical, is performing.

Has proven ability to perform and lead consistently in high pressure and time constrained maintenance environments delivering on time and to agreed standards.

Commercial awareness and Financial Management
Stays up to date with what's happening in the industry.

Maintains working knowledge of major industry developments – this includes decisions made by others, such as regulatory bodies, governments, associations etc.

Knowledge of KCAA/EASA/FAA requirements and Kenya Airways procedures.
Possess training credentials on various discipline related aircraft standards, regulations, policies and procedures.
Must be able to analyze, forecast and challenge logic of events.
Knowledge of computer systems in use in Technical Department.
Knowledge of EASA approvals and certification processes will be an added advantage
