We are a not for profit organization that works with vulnerable children in the public school system to improve their lives and school performance.

Founded in 2012, Food for Education provides subsidized school meals every day to over 15,000 kids with a goal of feeding 1,000,000 kids by 2025.

About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, the Supply Chain Manager plays a pivotal role in coordinating supply chain activities in collaboration with production facilities.

Your responsibilities will include overseeing inventory management and supply chain operations to ensure seamless coordination between the supply chain and production teams.

Roles and Responsibilities

Supply Chain Management

Lead and supervise supply chain staff to ensure efficient and effective operations.
Implement best practices for inventory management, including procurement, storage,cleaning and distribution of goods.
Develop and maintain inventory control procedures to optimize stock levels and minimize holding costs.
Coordinate with production facilities to forecast demand and ensure adequate stock availability.
Monitor supply chain operations to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.

Collaboration with Production Facilities

Work closely with kitchen managers to coordinate inventory needs and production schedules.
Ensure timely delivery of raw materials and components to production facilities to meet production targets.
Collaborate with sorting production teams to streamline workflow processes and minimize downtime.
Facilitate communication between the supply chain and production teams to address any issues or concerns.
Provide support to production facilities during peak periods or special projects as needed.

Logistics and Transportation Management

Manage transportation and logistics activities to optimize delivery schedules and minimize transportation costs.
Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and components.
Oversee the sourcing and procurement of inventory items in collaboration with production facilities.
Monitor and analyze supply chain performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain efficiency.

Financial Management

Develop and manage budgets for supply chain operations and logistics activities.
Implement cost-saving measures to optimize supply chain and logistics expenses.
Collaborate with the finance team to analyze financial data and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
Coordinate monthly or adhoc stocktake

Quality Management

Ensure compliance with quality assurance standards and procedures for incoming and outgoing goods.
Implement quality control measures to prevent product damage or loss during storage and handling.
Monitor inventory accuracy and conduct regular audits to identify discrepancies and resolve issues.

Leadership and Team Development

Provide leadership and guidance to supply chain staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Provide overall leadership of the business unit to ensure that team is committed to the company's objectives.
Regularly update management on operations status and prepare reports and presentations.
Participate in management meetings and contribute in ideation and decision making to help fashion the business direction.
Ensure that the business operations remain compliant in line with the government, clients, regulator and local authorities requirements.
Promote a positive work environment and encourage collaboration and teamwork among supply chain staff.
Ensure compliance to the organization's policies and procedures, and act as a champion for its culture and values.

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor's degree in business related field.
Professional qualification such as CPA or similar will be considered a plus.
5+ years of experience in supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of inventory management principles and best practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Proficiency in supply chain management systems and inventory control software.
Strong leadership and decision-making skills, with a focus on achieving operational excellence.
Ability to multitask and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements for supply chain operations.
Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
