Summary:


The accountant will play a critical role in the financial management and strategic decision-making of KUDURA Power East Africa Ltd.

This position will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and contributing to the company's growth and sustainability goals.


Responsibilities:

  • Financial Planning and Analysis:
○ Develop and implement financial plans and budgets in alignment with the company's strategic objectives.

○ Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide insights for informed decision-making.

○ Prepare financial reports, forecasts, and analyses for management and stakeholders.

  • Accounting and Reporting:
○ Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.

○ Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.

○ Maintain internal controls and financial procedures to safeguard assets and ensure data integrity.

  • Financial Risk Management:
○ Identify and assess financial risks, develop risk mitigation strategies, and monitor risk exposure.

○ Manage currency exchange risks and implement hedging strategies where appropriate.

○ Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements.

  • Treasury Management:
○ Manage cash flow, investments, and working capital to optimize liquidity and returns.

○ Negotiate and manage banking relationships and credit facilities.

○ Ensure efficient and secure treasury operations.

  • Team Leadership:
○ Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.

○ Provide guidance and support to team members in their professional development.

  • Strategic Finance:
○ Participate in strategic planning and decision-making processes, providing financial expertise and insights.

○ Evaluate potential investments, acquisitions, and partnerships from a financial perspective.

○ Contribute to the development and implementation of financial strategies to support the company's growth and sustainability goals.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably in the energy or infrastructure sector.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, analysis, and risk management principles.
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in the renewable energy sector.
  • Knowledge of East African financial regulations and accounting standards.
  • Familiarity with project finance and investment analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
