Job Title: Accountant

Job Summary:

  • Perform professional level accounting functions, ensuring accurate and timely financial management.
  • Manage all aspects of the college's accounts, adhering to the finance policy manual.
  • Oversee daily accounting duties, including fixed asset registry, petty cash reconciliations, and processing requisitions.
  • Submit comprehensive monthly reconciliations and maintain up-to-date records.
  • Manage payroll records, prepare trial balance and general ledgers, balance sheet, and profit and loss statements.
  • Ensure statutory deductions are made regularly and maintain proper documentation and storage of accounts records.
  • Assist in audits and other tasks assigned by management.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Track and record internal and external transactions.
  • Raise invoices for tuition collection.
  • Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Prepare budget and cash flow forecasts.
  • Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual audits.
Requirements:
  • Diploma in accounting and finance.
  • Registered Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.
  • Minimum 1-3 years' experience in accounting in a school setup.
  • Practical knowledge of QuickBooks and Excel.
  • Tacit knowledge in audit preparation, monthly reconciliation, budget making, and bookkeeping.
  • Familiarity with ICT in accounting and interdepartmental networking.
  • Good interpersonal skills and work ethics.
