Counselling Psychologist

HIAS is the global Jewish nonprofit organization that protects refugees, including women, children, and minority groups at risk due to their identity.
POSITION SUMMARY:
HIAS seeks a part-time counseling psychologist to provide counseling and psychotherapeutic interventions to vulnerable refugee clients facing emotional and mental health challenges.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Offer individual and group counseling services to referred refugees, maintaining counseling notes.
- Conduct psychological assessments and submit reports.
- Provide psychosocial counseling with utmost confidentiality and ethical standards.
- Ensure accurate assessment and diagnosis aligned with WHO Mental Health guidelines.
- Monitor and follow up on referral cases promptly.
- Coordinate outdoor therapeutic activities.
- Support in organizing protection-related meetings and activities.
- Prepare comprehensive and timely reports.
- Carry out assigned duties.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree in Counseling Psychology from a recognized university.
- Minimum 1 year of counseling experience; refugee work experience is a plus.
- Background in trauma counseling.
- Understanding of psychosocial complexities.
- Strong analytical and report writing skills.
- Excellent cross-cultural communication.
- Proactive, diplomatic, and flexible with strong computer skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Accountability to Affected Population, PSEA, and Anti-Fraud.
