Job Purpose
As the Cutting Supervisor at Vivo, you will be responsible for leading and managing the cutting department.
Your primary duties include planning, coordinating, and overseeing all cutting processes to ensure that materials are cut efficiently, accurately, and with the highest level of quality while maintaining cost-effectiveness.
You will also take charge of the department's resources, including personnel and materials, ensuring optimal utilisation.Additionally, you will play a key role in the pre-production phase, contributing to effective planning and preparation for upcoming production cycles.
Key ResponsibilitiesOversee and control cutting costs to stay within budget.
Identify and implement strategies to enhance cutting efficiency, reduce waste, and maintain or improve quality.
Lead, mentor, and supervise the cutting team to ensure effective performance.
Conduct regular training sessions to enhance skills and manage performance to achieve high productivity and quality.
Ensure all cutting operations adhere to Vivo's safety standards and regulations.
Perform regular safety audits and inspections, and address any safety concerns promptly.
Collaborate with design and production teams to understand upcoming projects.
Participate in pre-production meetings and prepare the cutting department for upcoming production cycles, ensuring readiness in materials and team allocation.
RequirementsKey Skills
Apply knowledge of quality control processes and standards to ensure high-quality garment manufacturing.
Adhere to safety regulations and practices within a manufacturing environment to maintain a safe workplace.
Implement plans and strategies effectively to align cutting operations with overall production goals and timelines.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, focusing on meeting deadlines and upholding high quality standards.
Perform cutting operations with precision and accuracy, ensuring thoroughness and minimizing errors while maintaining a strong focus on quality.
Utilize computer applications essential for garment cutting and production management, including CAD software for pattern making and general software for communication and reporting, such as Microsoft Office Suite.
Qualifications & ExperienceCompletion of secondary education (Form Four) and relevant tertiary education in fields such as Fashion Design, Textile Technology, or a related discipline.
Garment Cutting Experience hands-on experience in garment cutting, with a deep understanding of cutting techniques, fabric properties, and industry standards.
At least 5 years of experience in a supervisory role within a garment manufacturing environment, with a proven track record of leading and managing teams effectively.
Experience in planning and coordinating cutting operations, including resource allocation and workflow management.
