Role and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the development, implementation, review, monitoring, and dissemination of policies, strategies, legislations, guidelines, frameworks, norms, tools, regulations, plans, and standards on Immunization Program
  • Initiate projects related to Immunization
  • Provide capacity building to Ministries, Departments, Counties, and other Government Agencies on Immunization health-related matters
  • Offer technical support to Ministries, Departments, Counties, and other Government Agencies on Immunization related matters
  • Support the provision of Immunization interventions by public, private, and faith-based providers
  • Establish linkages with relevant stakeholders on immunization programs
  • Coordinate NCDs Interagency Coordinating Committees and Technical Working Groups/Committee of Experts
  • Guide in determining national vaccine services related data variables
  • Disseminate national immunization-related data, reports, and knowledge information
  • Mobilize resources for vaccination and immunization services programs and projects
  • Lead Business Process Re-engineering in the division of the Immunization Program
  • Oversee the implementation of Immunization related infrastructure, health products, and technologies
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on vaccination and immunization services research and innovation
  • Develop and maintain an efficient supply chain for vaccines and immunization
  • Establish a system for management and maintenance of cold chain systems to ensure quality, safety, and efficacy of vaccines and immunizations

Requirements:

  • Minimum three years experience at the grade of Deputy Director-Medical Services CSG '6' or similar position
  • Bachelors Degree in Medicine & Surgery, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Clinical Medicine, Nursing, or equivalent
  • Masters Degree in Medicine, Vaccinology, Public Health, Epidemiology, or equivalent
  • Registration and licensing by a recognized regulatory body
  • Membership to a relevant professional body
  • Managerial, administrative, and professional competencies
