Job Description
The main role of this position is to support students and alumni in their career development and job search efforts. The Officer will offer career counselling, resources, and assistance to help individuals explore various career paths, enhance job search skills, and secure employment opportunities. Collaboration with students, faculty, employers, and alumni is essential to drive career-related initiatives and lifelong career development.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide personalized career counselling and coaching to students and alumni on topics such as career exploration, resume writing, interview preparation, networking, and professional growth.
- Organize and conduct career workshops, seminars, and events to improve students' employability skills and prepare them for the job market.
- Work closely with academic departments to incorporate career development into the curriculum and arrange guest lectures, industry panels, and practical learning experiences.
- Coordinate career fairs, employer sessions, recruiting events, and other activities to connect students with potential employers.
- Administer and analyze career surveys and assessments to assess program effectiveness, track outcomes, and implement data-driven enhancements.
- Collaborate with various campus partners to offer comprehensive support in students' career development.
- Develop and execute innovative career programs and workshops to boost students' employability skills.
- Engage in professional development opportunities and networking activities to stay updated on career services best practices.
- Implement mentorship and work-study programs.
- Any other tasks assigned by supervisors or as outlined in the job description.
Qualifications & Experience- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, Counseling, Psychology, Career Development, Education, or a related field from a recognized university.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in career counselling or student advising roles.
- Membership in a relevant professional body is required.
- Proficiency in career advising, job search strategies, and employment trends.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to develop and organize career programs, workshops, and events.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in career services initiatives.
