ABOUT THE COMPANY

The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is an independent non-profit foundation located in Geneva, Switzerland. GAIN was established during the UN 2002 Special Session of the General Assembly on Children. GAIN's main goal is to work towards a world without malnutrition by fostering public-private partnerships and providing financial and technical support to deliver nutritious foods to those most at risk.

JOB SUMMARY

The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is looking for a CASCADE Programme Associate to offer operational, administrative, and coordination support to the GAIN CASCADE programme in various countries. This position is a fixed-term contract for two (2) years, based in Nairobi, Kenya. GAIN, in partnership with CARE, executes the Catalyzing Policy Action for Healthy Diets and Resilience (CASCADE) programme aimed at enhancing food security and reducing malnutrition in countries like Benin, Nigeria, Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, and Mozambique. The programme aims to reach at least 5 million women of reproductive age and children. Your role will involve overseeing project status, addressing challenges, exploring opportunities, and ensuring timely project delivery. You will assist in operational, administrative, and coordination tasks for the GAIN CASCADE programme.

About You

The ideal candidate should have a solid background in project operations and administration support. Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail, along with excellent written and verbal communication and presentation abilities to convey information effectively to diverse audiences are essential. Experience in engaging with various stakeholders to facilitate effective programme management and delivery is crucial. Proficiency in report writing, programme data management, and information handling is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supporting planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of CASCADE projects.
  • Ensuring high-quality and timely execution of country projects by keeping project managers informed and connected with necessary resources.
  • Tracking CASCADE project activities continuously, escalating issues to ensure prompt resolutions.
  • Aiding in internal communications and fostering good communication within the programme team across countries.
  • Facilitating coordination among country teams, technical teams, and professional services for effective programme management and delivery.
  • Promoting a culture of mutual accountability and partnership within GAIN and CARE teams to enhance CASCADE programme implementation.
