The Role:

Flutterwave is in search of Consumer Risk professionals who will have a key role in aiding the development and execution of risk management strategies linked to consumer transactions. This pivotal role involves conducting data analyses, monitoring transactions, and contributing to the implementation of risk mitigation initiatives.



Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Conduct data analyses to recognize trends and insights associated with consumer behavior and transaction patterns.
  • Review Flutterwave's products, features, and processes to spot potential risks and suggest and execute mitigation measures.
  • Create, monitor, and optimize fraud rules to address current fraud trends.
  • Spot any unusual transaction patterns to detect potential risks.
  • Collaborate with the team to investigate and analyze flagged transactions and take suitable actions.
  • Back up the execution of risk mitigation strategies to assure the security and reliability of consumer transactions.
  • Collaborate closely with varied teams like finance, legal, and technology to guarantee efficient risk management practices.
  • Maintain accurate records of risk assessment processes, findings, and actions.

Required competency and skill set to be eligible:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4+ years' experience in risk management, fraud prevention, or a related field is a bonus.
  • Hands-on experience with large data sets to derive actionable insights.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to link apparently unrelated data sets.
  • Practical, intermediate-level experience in SQL or a similar language.
  • Strategic thinking capability with the foresight to anticipate user requirements.
  • Great attention to detail and capability to simplify intricate concepts.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting operational issues and ensuring smooth execution of risk management processes.
  • Proven ability to draft comprehensive Business Requirements Documents (BRDs).
  • Comfortable with optimizing strategies and maintaining a balance between risks and positive actions.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with a proven track record of cross-functional collaboration.
