United Nations Support Services Description

  • Manage and implement administrative and support services to various United Nations organizations in Kenya.
  • Provide travel and shipment authorizations by reviewing and approving requests.
  • Verify travel invoices, calculate expenses, and reconcile travel reports.
  • Review and approve travel requests for other UN offices.
  • Act as a focal point for client escalations and monitor travel sub-unit workload.
  • Responsible for introducing and managing an online travel booking desk.
  • Answer travel and shipment queries from staff members and service providers.
  • Review invoices and credit notes from travel and shipment agents.
  • Perform ad-hoc assignments and assist with data analysis and reporting.

Requirements:
Competencies:
  • Professionalism: Ability to analyze data, demonstrate competence, meet commitments, and promote gender equality.
  • Communication: Clear communication skills, interest in two-way communication, and openness in sharing information.
  • Client Orientation: Focus on clients' needs, establish partnerships, and deliver products or services on time.

Education:
  • Completion of high school diploma, additional training in a relevant field is desirable.

Job-Specific Qualification:
  • Specialized Travel Agent training (e.g., IATA certification) is required.

Work Experience:
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in travel administration or related area.
  • Working experience in ERP systems is required.
  • 3 years of experience in the UN system is desirable.
  • Experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.
