BasiGo has developed a suite of digital technologies which are central to our value proposition, from real-time vehicle monitoring, to a novel platform for passengers to access electric buses, and a comprehensive commercial EV asset management platform, bridging financiers with bus operators.
SummaryThe Head of Digital at BasiGo is a dynamic technology business leadership role, managing BasiGo's digital product business unit.
The Head of Digital is responsible for making BasiGo's digital platform the leading financial platform for the electrification of public transport in Africa in line with BasiGo's overall corporate objectives.
The Head of Digital will have responsibility for developing and managing BasiGo's complete digital business, serving both internal and external customers.
To meet the objectives of the role, the Head of Digital will lead both software product management and core operational functions such as sales, marketing, and customer service for the digital portfolio.
Along those lines, the role will be responsible for defining the marketing strategy of the digital product portfolio, guiding how it can most profitably serve both internal and external stakeholders.
This role requires an experienced and entrepreneurial technology leader looking to build a revolutionary product portfolio for accelerating the electrification of public transport on the African continent.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead BasiGo's Digital business managing the company's suite of digital products and services: Vehicle Telematics, PAYD Asset Management, Fare Collection and Booking Systems, and passenger counting.
Communicate the product and business vision and be the voice of the customer for BasiGo's digital product portfolio both internally and externally.
Manage the complete P&L for BasiGo's digital business serving both internal and external stakeholders.Develop and manage an organization responsible for product management, business development, marketing, and customer service supporting all digital products.
Define objectives and key results for BasiGo's digital business aligned to BasiGo's broader corporate objectives.Manage the digital product life cycle, collaborating with users, design, development teams, and other stakeholders to navigate from product conception to go live.
Work closely with BasiGo country team leaders to ensure that BasiGo's digital product portfolio is meeting the needs of each individual market.
Develop strategic business and technology partnerships for unlocking digital business growth.Report on strategy, OKR's, and business performance to BasiGo leadership, Board, and investors.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 8+ years of management experience in technology product management or business development.
Proven track record of successful technology products released, adopted, and scaled in Africa.
Strong leader and manager with excellent communication skills.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
Experience in SaaS and B2C software business models
Understanding of the software product development life cycle
Desired Qualifications:
Understanding of key technology trends and how their application to technology business models
Experience developing business models for new technology products.
Experience and understanding of public transport and the automotive sector is a plus.
Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality products.
