Mombasa County is one of the 47 Counties of Kenya with Mombasa as its capital and only city. The county covers an area of 229.7 km2 excluding 65 km2 of water and was reconstituted as a county in 2013.

Clinical Officer (ENT) duties include:

  • First on call in ENT emergencies
  • Clerking and seeing patients in ENT clinic and Emergency
  • Removing foreign bodies from ears, nose, and throat (non-anesthesia)
  • Minor procedures under local anesthesia (keloid excision, abscess drainage, dressing)
  • Ear syringing
  • Prescribing medications for ENT diseases
  • Teaching and mentoring interns and students in ENT clinic

Required qualifications include:

  • Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery from a recognized institution
  • Higher Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery in Ear, Nose, Throat (ENT) from a recognized institution
  • Certificate of Registration from the Clinical Officers' Council
  • Valid Professional Practice License from the Clinical Officers' Council
  • Proficiency in computer applications
