Living Goods works with networks of health entrepreneurs similar to 'Avon' representatives, who go from door to door educating families on ways to improve their health and wealth. They also offer life-changing products like treatments for malaria and diarrhea, safe delivery kits, fortified foods, clean cook stoves, water filters, and solar lights.

By integrating effective strategies from both business and public health sectors, we not only reduce child mortality rates significantly but also create business opportunities for numerous driven women.

Living Goods currently assists a network of over 2,000 micro-entrepreneurs in Uganda and Kenya. These entrepreneurs educate families in their neighborhoods on health improvement techniques and distribute affordable, impactful items such as basic medicines, fortified foods, water filters, clean cook stoves, and solar lights.

As a part of the Branch Team, you will have a crucial role in supporting Community Health Volunteers (CHVs) to deliver top-notch healthcare services to their communities and promote sales of essential products.

Summary:

As a Senior Officer in Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning, you will be fundamental in ensuring the success of our programs in the Performance Evidence and Insights Division.

You will closely collaborate with program teams to guarantee the fulfillment of monitoring and evaluation (MEL) requirements, enhance their MEL skills, and coordinate with National and County Health Records as well as Monitoring and Evaluation teams.

Your responsibilities will include aiding program delivery teams in data generation, preparing KPIs reports for the programs, conducting data quality audits, attending meetings with the Ministry of Health on MEL for e-CHIS, and various other MEL-related tasks contributing significantly to our mission of deepening impact, continuous learning, improvement, and the communication of compelling evidence.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide MEL support to Living Goods' Innovations program.
  • Support MEL for e-CHIS in Kenya and collaborate with other Living Goods countries for mutual support and experience sharing.
  • Support MEL activities for government-led collaborative initiatives.
  • Participate in meetings with the Ministry of Health regarding MEL for e-CHIS.
  • Assist in MEL processes in expansion countries and counties such as Vihiga and Isiolo.
  • Ensure program teams comply with MEL requirements and standards through collaboration.
  • Help in designing, implementing, and managing the project's MEL framework and information system.
  • Lead data collection, analysis, and reporting to evaluate progress and highlight areas for enhancement.
  • Monitor project performance against set indicators and targets.
  • Support the organization and implementation of baseline and evaluation assessments.
  • Prepare KPIs reports for assigned programs.
  • Enhance the MEL understanding and practices of program teams.
  • Coordinate with National and County Health Records and M&E teams to ensure data accuracy.
  • Assist program delivery teams in generating monthly data reports.
  • Conduct data quality audits to maintain data accuracy.
  • Execute other MEL-related duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree plus a Professional qualification in Monitoring and Evaluation, Public Health, Statistics, Data Science, Health Economics, Epidemiology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in monitoring and evaluation activities, preferably in community health or public health.
  • Familiarity with the Kenyan healthcare system and experience collaborating with the Government of Kenya and its partners.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data collection and analysis.
  • Knowledge of statistical methods and database management.
  • Capacity building and training experience in MEL topics.
  • Proficiency in data management tools such as Excel and data analysis software.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficient in both written and spoken English.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
