JOB PURPOSE

  • The Vehicle Electrical Technician strives to play a vital role in ensuring the smooth diagnosis, servicing, repair, and maintenance of motorbikes in warehouses and service centers. The technician will also aid in roadside assistance tasks as assigned and collaborate closely with the Service Manager to enforce Standard Operating Procedures and uphold a tidy, secure, and systematic work environment.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain a well-organized and safe workspace, including tools, to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Conduct regular maintenance inspections on motorcycles.
  • Identify mechanical and electrical component issues and determine suitable solutions.
  • Rectify or substitute faulty parts.
  • Conduct safety checks post repairs and maintenance to ensure consistent high safety standards.
  • Utilize specialized tools and equipment for repair tasks.
  • Keep detailed records of all repair and maintenance activities.
  • Provide technical guidance to customers and offer advice on proper motorcycle maintenance, including preventive measures.
  • Stay informed about advancements in the EV industry and electrical components for motorcycle repairs.
  • Assist the Service Manager in implementing Standard Operating Procedures for effective service provision.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to distinguish between warranty and non-warranty matters concerning electronic devices.
  • Effectively communicate in both English and Swahili, verbally and in writing.
  • Effectively manage changing priorities and exhibit strong work ethics in all assignments.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND TRAITS

  • Diploma/Vocational Training in Electrical Engineering or a related field is desirable.
  • At least 2 years of technical repair experience on motorbikes, whether EVs or Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicles.
  • Experience in working with and handling vehicle electrical components is a plus.
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to carry out electrical assembly tasks precisely and efficiently.
  • Familiarity with Standard Operating Procedures and quality management systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Excel and competent in report writing.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Swahili.
  • Capability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a high-paced setting.
