Grants Associate

The Grants Associate ensures effective management of grant resources by enhancing Sub Recipients' capacity to implement activities. This role involves managing grant resources, developing and enforcing procedures, and providing technical guidance to Sub recipients. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, and 3+ years of experience in grant management. Key responsibilities include grants management, budget and work plan development, compliance, mentorship, and reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in setting grant management policies and procedures
- Assist in preparation and follow-up on timely disbursement of grant funds
- Participate in project grants accounting, reporting, compliance, and risk management
- Carry out grants specific database maintenance and reporting
- Representation of Amref at consultative meetings with key stakeholders
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- Professional qualification in CPA (section 2) or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience in grant management
- Experience with donors, such as Global Fund and USAID, is an added advantage
- ICT proficient, with accounting and ERP software skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including public speaking
- Analytical skills and attention to details
- Good organization, planning, and coordination skills
- Problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
- Team player with high integrity and honesty
