Here's a brief summary of the procurement:
- WRI intends to award a Fixed-price contract for a consultant to assess Policies and Incentive Mechanisms for Scaling Forests and Landscape Restoration in Kenya's Greater Rift Valley.
- The consultant will support the Securing Policy aspect of WRI's Restore Local project in Kenya, focusing on four counties: Baringo, Elgeyo Marakwet, Makueni, and Nakuru.
- Application deadline: December 15, 2024.

About the World Resources Institute:
Established in 1982, WRI is committed to creating positive global change through research-based initiatives. Their projects range from addressing essential needs to environmental conservation and climate resilience. They aim to revolutionize food production, energy usage, and urban development for a better tomorrow.
Regarding the Restore Local Project:
WRI is actively involved in African forest and landscape restoration efforts. The focus is now on translating commitments into actionable projects, especially those led by local communities and smallholder farmers.
WRI's Global Restoration Initiative has outlined a comprehensive restoration blueprint encompassing capacity development, policy advocacy, finance allocation, and monitoring techniques.
Currently, WRI is implementing this blueprint in three key African landscapes, including Kenya's Great Rift Valley.
Overview of the Landscape Policy Accelerator:
The Landscape Policy Accelerator is a platform for policymakers striving to enhance forest and landscape restoration policies. The program involves a series of workshops, mentoring sessions, and tailored support to address restoration policy challenges effectively.
The Landscape Policy Accelerator will be rolled out in Kenya's Great Rift Valley, focusing on Baringo, Elgeyo Marakwet, Nakuru, and Makueni counties.
Scope of Work and Outputs/Deliverables:

- Develop a detailed work plan and Gantt chart.
- Identify government priorities for forest and landscape restoration.
- Evaluate existing policies and incentives.
- Identify opportunities and challenges for implementing restoration at scale.
Activities and Deliverables include:
- Work Plan development.
- National and county restoration policy priorities assessment.

Proposal Submission:
Potential consultants must submit a statement of interest, CV(s), previous work samples, proposed methodology, and budget breakdown to be considered for the role.
Evaluation and Selection:
Proposals will be evaluated based on completion, compliance, experience, and cost-effectiveness. The best-value bidder will be selected with a focus on quality and price balance.
Selection Process:
No proposal development costs will be covered by WRI, and bidders are responsible for all expenses. WRI retains the right to award the contract without further discussions and may consider multiple awards.
