Role Description:

The System Administrator role at Wise and Agile Solutions Limited demands a candidate with exceptional problem-solving abilities, a robust technical understanding of software systems, and the capacity to collaborate effectively within a team setting. The role also requires excellent communication skills to articulate technical matters and solutions to non-technical stakeholders and experience in software development life cycle methodologies. Adaptability to new software technologies and rapid learning are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

The System Administrator role has the following responsibilities:

Software Implementation:
  • Deployment and troubleshooting of PHP (Laravel/CodeIgniter/Vanilla) and DotNet applications.
  • Maintenance of live software applications and setup of dependencies.
  • Configuration and management of software integration with other systems and applications.
  • Data analysis, manipulation, and importation using Excel, SQL queries, views, and stored procedures.
Network Management:
  • Planning and setup of new and existing networks.
  • Troubleshooting and resolution of network issues.
  • Expansion and scaling of network infrastructure.
  • Understanding and management of network devices and architectures.
Systems Setup:
  • Testing and deploying various application types, emphasising DotNet, Laravel, CodeIgniter, and pure PHP applications.
  • Installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of ERP applications, with a focus on SAGE.
  • Identification and resolution of hardware, software, and network problems.
  • Implementation of architecture-related solutions on live applications.
Database Management:
  • Installation and configuration of database servers (MSSQL, MySQL, Pervasive SQL, and PostgreSQL).
  • Troubleshooting and problem resolution for existing database systems.
  • Security and performance analysis of DBMS with problem-solving expertise.
  • Basic database backup and recovery procedures.
Computer Systems Management:
  • Management of various systems, including Linux (especially Ubuntu), Windows servers and desktops.
  • Setup of virtual machines and NAT designing and deployment.
  • Performance and security enforcement on computer systems.
  • Mail server setup and management.
Communication Skills:
  • Effective interpersonal skills for client interactions.
  • Experience in training and explaining concepts to non-technical individuals.
  • Commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and data privacy.
  • Ability to respond promptly to system and application failures.
