Job Overview

The CCTV Control Room Operator plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of security systems within the control room. This position requires an individual who can efficiently monitor and operate all systems, adhering to established security protocols.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, enabling them to effectively liaise with service providers and internal departments. They will also maintain accurate records, handle equipment failures, and provide a courteous radio and telephone service.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Operate and monitor all security systems within the control room, ensuring compliance with security operating procedures.
  2. Liaise with service providers and internal departments to optimize the use of security systems.
  3. Maintain accurate evidential records and witness statements, adhering to rules of evidence standards.
  4. Record events and actions taken in a clear, sequential, legible, and accurate manner in the occurrence book.
  5. Provide an efficient and courteous radio and telephone service while handling inquiries.
  6. Report equipment failure to the security shift in charge to minimize system downtime.
  7. Work closely with the duty manager on security surveillance and ensure the timely provision of information required.
  8. Maintain a secure system for providing data, adhering to established procedures.
  9. Conduct regular checks on Security personnel through CCTV cameras to ensure they are alert and performing their duties efficiently.
  10. Control access to the control room from unauthorized persons.
  11. Assist in conducting investigations and prepare accompanying investigation reports for various cases.
  12. Conduct regular and periodical checks through all security surveillance systems.
  13. Attend meetings and in-service training as planned.
