Medical Laboratory Assistant

At UniQare Medical Laboratories, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Medical Laboratory Assistant to support our diagnostic testing processes.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in medical laboratory science and be proficient in laboratory techniques and equipment. Key responsibilities include sample collection and preparation, testing and analysis, equipment operation and maintenance, quality assurance, safety compliance, and documentation and reporting.

• Receive, label, and prepare samples for testing.
• Follow standardized procedures to ensure sample integrity.

• Perform laboratory tests using appropriate techniques, instruments, and protocols.
• Analyze data, interpret results, and document findings accurately.
• Collaborate with scientists or healthcare professionals to discuss results.

• Operate and maintain lab instruments.
• Calibrate equipment and troubleshoot technical issues as needed.

• Conduct routine quality control checks to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Document and report any deviations from expected results.

• Adhere to laboratory safety guidelines, including the handling of hazardous materials.

• Maintain detailed and accurate records of all laboratory procedures and results.
• Prepare technical reports and summaries for supervisors or clients.

• Work as part of a team to ensure the smooth functioning of lab operations.
• Assist in training new staff or interns as needed.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science is required. Registration by KMLTTB is mandatory. Experience will be an added advantage.

Skills: Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques and equipment; attention to detail and high level of accuracy; proficiency in data analysis and computer applications related to laboratory work; excellent communication and teamwork skills; ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.
