Peace and Conflict Research Specialist

AGIAMONDO is seeking a highly skilled Research Associate for Peace and Conflict Research to support our partner organization, the Technical University of Mombasa (TUM), in Kenya. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of curricula for peace and conflict research degree programs and support academic teaching staff in supervising students in research projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop curricula for Bachelor's and Master's degree programs in peace and conflict research
• Support academic teaching staff in supervising students in research projects
• Take on teaching activities of 6 hours per week in peace and conflict research
• Supervise students during their internships and work with potential internship sites to apply academic knowledge in practice
• Support research work in the areas of peace work and conflict transformation

Requirements:

• Master's degree in peace and conflict studies, religious studies, or a comparable subject area
• Experience in peace and conflict work or in the field of interreligious dialogue, ideally with a focus on the East African context
• Relevant professional experience in a university context, e.g., through teaching activities, the development of teaching modules, or research work
• Experience in grassroots work and knowledge of how to strengthen local initiatives
• Business fluent in English, knowledge of Kiswahili is an advantage
