We're seeking an exceptional Senior Account Manager, preferably based in Kenya, to lead client relationships for a prestigious African conglomerate with operations spanning energy, hospitality, real estate, and conservation. This role requires someone who can navigate complex stakeholder dynamics and translate authentic African perspectives into powerful thought leadership content.
Key ResponsibilitiesServe as the primary day-to-day contact for the client's Head of Communications, building a strong working relationship based on trust and strategic valueDevelop deep understanding of East African business landscape, particularly in energy, conservation, and infrastructure sectorsOversee content development that reflects an authentically African perspective while meeting international quality standardsNavigate cultural nuances and political sensitivities across multiple African marketsTranslate complex technical and industry information into compelling narrativesManage project timelines and deliverables across multiple workstreamsBridge communication between international teams and local stakeholdersRequired Qualifications
5+ years of account management experience, preferably with high-profile corporate clients in KenyaDemonstrated understanding of East African business environment, especially energy sector dynamicsExceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate nuanced ideasCultural fluency in both local Kenyan context and international business environmentsExperience managing content development for C-suite executivesStrong project management capabilitiesBachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, or related fieldDesired Experience
Previous agency experience at international or pan-African firmsBackground in energy, infrastructure, or conservation sectorsUnderstanding of ESG communications and sustainability narrativesExperience developing thought leadership for senior executivesKnowledge of regional differences across East and Southern African marketsExperience with social listening and digital content strategyUnderstanding of the political landscape in key East African marketsPersonal Attributes
