An international non-profit organisation based in Africa is seeking a
Supply Chain & Logistics Associate
to support and optimise their procurement and logistics operations across the region. This role is based in
Nairobi, Kenya
.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a mission-driven organisation dedicated to expanding access to critical health care solutions. The role will be
based in Kenya
and will play a pivotal part in ensuring the smooth flow of products across Sub-Saharan Africa.
The successful candidate will support end-to-end supply chain activities, working closely with suppliers, distributors, and internal teams. This position offers the chance to contribute to meaningful impact, while supporting organisational growth and efficiency.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field (master's or certifications such as CIPS/KISM preferred).
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in supply chain management, logistics, or procurement.
- Strong skills in Excel and inventory management systems.
- Previous experience operating across Sub-Saharan Africa preferred.
- Exceptional attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Adaptability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment - need to conduct regular meetings with suppliers in Asia
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee logistics operations, including warehousing, transportation, and distribution.
- Manage procurement processes, purchase orders, and supplier relationships.
- Track shipments, freight quotes, and shipping documentation from origin to destination.
- Ensure compliance with international and local logistics regulations.
- Monitor supply chain KPIs including delivery performance, costs, and inventory turnover.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Sales, Finance, and Customer Support) to meet business goals.
- Drive improvements to optimise costs, lead times, and operational efficiency.

Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, Business Administration, or related field.
Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CIPS, KISM) preferred.
5-7 years of experience in supply chain management, with a focus on logistics and procurement.
Previous experience working across Sub-Saharan African countries preferred.
Knowledge of medical devices (especially neonatal and maternal) and related documentation is an advantage.
Strong technical and data entry skills, with advanced Excel proficiency.
Experience using inventory management systems.
Ability to monitor and report on KPIs such as delivery performance, freight costs, inventory turnover, and budget adherence.
Understanding of international and local logistics laws, import requirements, and safety standards.
Exceptional attention to detail (ability to manage multiple moving parts accurately).
Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written in English).
Ability to collaborate effectively with suppliers, distributors, and cross-functional teams (Sales, Finance, Customer Support).
Comfortable in a fast-paced, startup-like environment where priorities can shift quickly.
Willingness to work flexible hours to align with suppliers in Asia and stakeholders in the USA
