About the Role

We are seeking a
Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer
to join our dynamic technical team in Nairobi.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining Fimnet's network infrastructure to ensure optimal uptime, stability, and service quality. This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented professional who can troubleshoot network issues, perform root cause analysis, and ensure fast problem resolution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor network performance, availability, and security through NOC systems and tools.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot network incidents to minimize downtime.
  • Configure and maintain
    MikroTik routers, switches, and network devices
    .
  • Provide
    technical support
    to field engineers and customers.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and system updates.
  • Generate daily/weekly reports on network health and incidents.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to higher-level engineering teams when necessary.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven experience in
    Network Operations Center (NOC)
    or
    Network Administration
    .
  • Strong background in
    troubleshooting
    ,
    incident management
    , and
    technical support
    .
  • Hands-on experience with
    MikroTik RouterOS
    ,
    routing
    ,
    firewall configuration
    , and
    network monitoring tools
    .
  • Excellent
    problem-solving
    and
    critical-thinking
    skills.
  • Strong
    communication
    and
    team collaboration
    abilities.
  • Bachelor's degree
    in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Certifications such as
    MikroTik Certified Network Associate (MTCNA)
    ,
    CCNA
    , or
    CompTIA Network+
    are highly preferred.
