Position - Pre-Sales Consultant

Work Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Experience : Minimum 4 Years in presales of Data & AI

Interview Process - F2F in Mumbai (Travel Expenses would be reimbursed by company once interview is done)

Responsibilities

  • Articulate Data & AI Value Proposition: Demonstrate how Clouderas hybrid data platform, AI/ML capabilities, and analytics solutions drive innovation, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and customer growth.
  • Engage with Technology Partners: Collaborate with OEMs and ecosystem partners to gather technical details, validate integration points (e.g., cloud-native data services, governance, security), and co-develop tailored solutions.
  • Solution Design: Prepare high-level designs for enterprise data platforms: data lakes, warehouses, streaming pipelines, governance frameworks, and MLOps architectures. Include architecture diagrams, bill of materials (BOM), scope, and cost estimates.
  • Proof-of-Concepts (PoCs): Conduct PoCs and demonstrations to validate solution fit, such as large-scale data ingestion, machine learning model deployment, or real-time
  • analytics.
  • Sales Collaboration: Partner with Account Managers during sales cycles, providing technical expertise, responding to RFPs/RFIs, and tailoring solutions to customer use cases (e.g., fraud detection, churn prediction, customer 360).
  • Customer Requirement Analysis: Translate customer requirements into data-driven solutions, such as recommending secure data lakehouse strategies for regulatory compliance or AI-based analytics for business growth.
  • Proposal & Bid Support: Support bid teams in compiling technical sections of proposals, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay updated on industry trends in AI/ML, big data, cloud-native platforms, and data governance, especially within African financial services, telco, and public sector landscapes.
  • Knowledge Sharing & Enablement: Provide internal training to sales teams on new data and AI solution features and document technical proposals and PoC outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field; Masters preferred.
  • 4+ years in presales, solutions architecture, or technical consulting in data/AI domains.
  • Hands-on experience with data platforms (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Kubernetes, Cloudera, Databricks, AWS/GCP/Azure).
  • Practical knowledge of ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, MLflow) and analytics tools.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Cloudera Certified Professional, AWS Data Analytics Specialty, Google Cloud Data Engineer).
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance
