You Would Be Responsible For
TFGBV Training Package: Summary of Contextualisation Process
- Desk Review of the existing TFGBV Training Package and any other relevant desk resources promoting survivor-centred approaches to TFGBV.
- Inception Report, including contextualization rationale, methodological tools, metrics, disaggregated data broken down by relevant demographics (e.g., age, gender, location, PWDs, etc), a draft contextualized outline of the Training Package and work plan for the consultancy.
- Virtual consultations with personnel, including GBV service providers, across the key sectors and the three focus counties.
- Draft contextualized TFGBV Training Package (sector-specific with county references/examples).
- Draft TFGBV Lexicon.
- Validation meeting with key experts/GBV service providers, and meeting report.
- Finalized and validated contextualized TFGBV Training Package.
- Finalized TFGBV Lexicon.
- Brief report documenting and summarizing the contextualization process, including key stakeholder feedback.
Inception And Consultations Phase
- Conduct a desk review of the existing TFGBV Training Package and any other relevant desk resources promoting survivor-centered approaches to TFGBV.
- Develop an inception report detailing the contextualization tools, metrics and data, draft contextualized outline of the Training Package, and a work plan to inform the contextualization of the TFGBV Training Package for GBV service providers in Kisumu, Mombasa, and Nairobi, ensuring contextual relevance, effectiveness, and appropriateness.
- Conduct initial consultations with the GBV/Gender Advisor, the GBV/Gender Programme Analyst, and the TFGBV Consultant to clarify expectations and ensure alignment.
- Adapt the existing TFGBV Training Package to the specific needs and contexts of each target sector (healthcare, social services, education, justice, law enforcement, psychosocial services, and ICT/technical security) for audiences in Kisumu, Mombasa, and Nairobi counties. This will involve:
- Identifying sector-specific needs and challenges related to TFGBV, guided by survivor-centric approaches and perspectives, and informed by relevant county-specific examples/references.
- Tailoring training materials, including, but not limited to, presentations, handouts, activity sheets, case studies, amongst others to each key sector, ensuring consistency and quality of data contextualization.
- Tailoring all trainer guides with detailed instructions.
- Conducting Key Informant Interviews, where necessary, with TFGBV survivors and GBV service providers in Kisumu, Mombasa and Nairobi counties to support and enrich the contextualization of the TFGBV Training Package.
- Prepare a contextualized TFGBV lexicon in English.
- Organise and facilitate virtual consultation meetings with key experts, including TFGBV survivors, GBV service providers, government, and CSOs, in Kisumu, Mombasa and Nairobi to gather input on the contextualised Training Package.
- Incorporate feedback received from these consultations into the final Training Package, and prepare a comprehensive consultation meeting report.
- Facilitate a hybrid validation workshop with key experts, including TFGBV survivors, GBV service providers, government, and CSOs, to ensure the Training Package is relevant and contextually applicable for GBV service providers in Kisumu, Mombasa and Nairobi, and prepare a comprehensive validation meeting report.
- Finalize the contextualized TFGBV Training Package, incorporating all feedback and revisions.
- Submit the final Training Package in English in the highest quality digital and print formats.
- Submit a brief consultancy report documenting the contextualization process, including hyperlinks to all material used to contextualize and validate the TFGBV Training Package, including key stakeholder feedback and contacts.
Expected Timelines
Inception and Internal Consultations Phase(estimated 14 working days)
- Conduct a desk review of the existing TFGBV Training Package, and any other relevant desk resources promoting survivor-centred approaches to TFGBV.
- Develop an inception report detailing the contextualization tools/metrics/data/logic, proposed methodology, draft outline of the Training Package and work plan to inform the contextualization of the TFGBV Training Package for GBV service providers in Kisumu, Mombasa, and Nairobi, ensuring contextual relevance, effectiveness, and appropriateness.
- Develop contextualization tools and measurable indicators to guide the contextualization of the TFGBV Training Package for GBV service providers in Kisumu, Mombasa, and Nairobi.
- Conduct initial consultations with the GBV/Gender Advisor, the GBV/Gender Programme Analyst and the TFGBV Consultant to clarify expectations and ensure alignment.

Qualifications and Experience:
Knowledge And Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of demonstrable experience in the field of gender-based violence (GBV), learning, knowledge management, or any other related area in the context of GBV programming, with a specific focus on technology-facilitated GBV (TFGBV), is preferred.
- Specialized knowledge of gender-based violence, technology-facilitated gender-based violence, and technology in the Kenyan context.
- Proven experience in developing and delivering training programmes, ideally related to GBV and/or TFGBV.
- Proven experience adapting and contextualizing existing training materials for different audiences in Kenya.
- Experience conducting and/or facilitating consultations, key informant interviews, focus group discussions, and workshops.
- Familiarity with the UNFPA GBV guidance on ethical data collection and management, and UNFPA's 'A Framework for TFGBV Programming.'
- Initiative, sound judgment, and demonstrated ability to work harmoniously with teams from different cultural backgrounds.
- Fluency in English and Kiswahili.
