Job Overview
The Digital Transformation and BI Manager is a critical role to Komatsu Company Stores East as it lays the supporting structures for future growth using BI technologies and building a cohesive digital workplace. This role works across all levels and departments of the organization to develop and execute a comprehensive strategy that aligns with company objectives. This strategy leverages data, analytics, and digital technologies to optimize business processes, improve decision making, and drive growth. This role will require a deep understanding of the heavy equipment industry, strong analytical skills, and a strong understanding of the digital transformation process.
Our current Telecommute Policy allows this position to work remotely one day per week.
Key Job Responsibilities
General
- Lead key strategic initiatives across Komatsu Company Stores East's portfolio of brands, including but not limited to identifying and driving innovative developments, managing brand valuation and equity assessments, and monitoring in-market business performance.
- Provide strategic insight and guidance to the business, aiding the development of the company's strategic plans and deriving meaningful growth opportunities.
- Create and manage modeling necessary for analyzing and supporting transformation initiatives throughout the company and integrate into the strategic planning.
- Understand and communicate key trends of competitive industry movements on our business.
- Lead complex projects and programs from idea to implementation by providing strategic direction and thought to leadership to stakeholders, leveraging resources, and driving risk mitigation strategies.
- Manage critical business metrics and deliverables by leading technical reporting to assess key financial impacts and ROI.
Business Intelligence
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data requirements, develop data models, and ensure data quality and integrity.
- Develop and manage a robust Business Intelligence (BI) strategy aligned with the company's overall business objectives.
- Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of BI dashboards, reports, and analytics tools to provide actionable insights to key stakeholders.
- Analyze complex data sets to uncover trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
- Measure and report on the impact of BI and digital transformation initiatives on business performance.
Digital Transformation
- Research and analyze the best practices, trends, and innovations in the digital transformation space and recommend the appropriate solutions and tools for the organization. This includes staying updated on the latest developments and technologies, evaluating the feasibility and suitability of the digital solutions, and testing and piloting the new digital products and services.
- Assess the current state of digital maturity and capabilities of the organization and identify the gaps and areas for improvement. This includes conducting digital audits, surveys, and interviews, and benchmarking the organization against the industry standards and best practices.
- Define and communicate the vision, objectives, and roadmap for digital transformation and ensure alignment with the organizational strategy and priorities. This includes developing a clear and compelling business case, value proposition, and stakeholder engagement plan for the digital transformation initiatives.
- Facilitate the change management and adoption processes for the digital transformation initiatives, including providing training, guidance, and support to the end-users and stakeholders. This includes assessing the readiness and resistance, designing and delivering the change interventions, and ensuring the sustainability and scalability of the change outcomes.
- Develop, execute, and lead digital transformation projects and programs, including defining the scope, budget, timeline, deliverables, and success metrics. This includes managing the project lifecycle, from initiation to closure, and ensuring the quality, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness of the project outcomes.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Expert ability to Ready/Write SQL.
- Knowledge of cloud-based platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Palantir, Google Cloud).
- Expert knowledge of BI tools and technologies (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Excellent project management, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Strong change management ability.
- Strong financial acumen.
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to influence, persuade, and negotiate with senior leaders, business units, IT teams, and external partners.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Ability to adapt to changing needs, priorities, and expectations in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Ability to lead and motivate teams.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the digital transformation concepts, frameworks, methodologies, and best practices.
- Experience with data mining and predictive analytics.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Travel requirements:
Regional travel by car.
- Overnight not always necessary.
- Occasional flights for conferences
Additional Information
Hiring Range
At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $130,000 to 140,000. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
