1. Overall, Purpose of the Role:
This is a unique, hybrid role designed to leverage clinical credibility for strategic market growth. The Marketing Lead will be a qualified clinician who will receive intensive training in marketing and business development. The individual will be responsible for executing the dual-engine growth strategy by building trusted relationships with hospital partners (B2B) and driving patient acquisition through community engagement (B2C). Their clinical background is essential for speaking the language of partners and patients, thereby building the trusted HMS brand.
2. Key Responsibilities:
A. B2B Relationship & Partnership Management (40%)
- Act as the primary HMS liaison for referring physicians and clinical staff within partner hospitals.
- Conduct clinical presentations and mini-CME sessions to educate partners on HMS services and referral pathways.
- Identify and onboard new referring physicians, achieving the target of 10+ new referring physicians per month.
- Work with the BD Manager to negotiate and solidify partnerships with local corporate clients and SACCOs.
B. B2C Community Marketing & Patient Acquisition (40%)
- Plan and execute local, digital-first marketing campaigns (e.g., targeted social media, WhatsApp CTAs) tailored to the county's demographics.
- Represent HMS at community events, CSR health camps, and through the branded mobile van initiatives, using clinical knowledge to conduct basic health talks and screenings.
- Manage the local rollout of the
Diaspora Health Packages
, acting as a knowledgeable and empathetic point of contact for families and sponsors. - Develop hyper-local content (e.g., health tips, service announcements) that resonates with the community.
C. Strategic Execution & Analysis (20%)
- Implement the national marketing strategy at the county level, providing feedback on what works locally.
- Track and report on county-specific marketing KPIs (e.g., lead generation, campaign conversion, patient source).
- Manage the county's marketing budget in coordination with the central BD Manager.
- Supervise and mentor County Officers (commission-based), providing them with the necessary clinical and product knowledge.
3. Qualifications and Experience:
- Essential:
Registered Clinical Officer with a valid license from the Clinical Officers Council. - Essential:
2-3 years of clinical experience, preferably in an outpatient or community setting. A passion for marketing and business development is critical. - Desirable:
Any prior experience in community health, sales, or patient education. Experience using digital marketing tools (e.g., social media for business) is a strong plus. - Personal Attributes:
Excellent communicator, charismatic, entrepreneurial spirit, and a quick learner. Must be able to bridge the gap between clinical care and commercial strategy.
4. Training & Development:
HMS will invest in the successful candidate by providing:
- An intensive onboarding program in modern B2B and B2C marketing, sales techniques, and CRM tools.
- Ongoing mentorship from the Business Development Manager.
- Budget for attendance at relevant marketing or business development workshops.
5. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Number of New Referring Physicians/Month: 10+
- Number of Corporate/SACCO Contracts Secured (Annual Target: Aligned with county goals)
- Local Campaign Metrics (Impressions, Site Visits, Lead Conversion)
Patient Acquisition Cost and Growth in Direct Patient Bookings for the county.
