Nairobi, Nairobi Area, Kenya Delta40 Studio Full time 900,000 - 1,200,000 per year

About the Delta40 Venture Studio

Delta40 is a Venture Studio headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya. Our mission is to increase incomes and tackle climate change in Africa by building and investing in inclusive climate innovations. More specifically, we focus on technology-driven energy, agriculture, and mobility ventures led by experienced, diverse Founders. We ideate, launch, and scale new ventures from idea to exit.  In addition to capital, we provide hands-on support, shared services, and a community of experienced leaders to increase the speed, scale, returns and reach of these innovations.  Over the next 5 years, we aim to build a portfolio of ventures that impacts 20M lives, reduces 100M tonnes of carbon and catalyses $1B of follow-on investment into these key sectors in Africa. We also aspire to build a scalable venture studio model that can be used to increase the speed and scale of venture building in other sectors and geographies in emerging markets.

About The Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Associate (Partner's Office) to join our team and work closely with leadership to build and execute Delta40's strategy.  The Associate will report to the Managing Partner and Business Development Director and will have the opportunity to work with different teams within the platform.  This is a highly dynamic role - one day you may be preparing materials for investor updates, another you may be in the  field supporting our portfolio companies, and the next you may be writing a thought leadership piece on the venture studio model. This role will be adaptive based on the needs of the organization and the skills/interests of the candidate. More specifically, the Associate will conduct research to inform strategic decisions, scope and execute strategic initiatives/projects, advance key partnerships and support leadership.  The Associate will use rigorous, data driven insights to make project recommendations and will own projects through the entire process from project scoping and execution to post project reflection. .

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will have experience working in both management consulting and an entrepreneurial environment in Africa, with strong project management and business analysis skills, excellent communication skills, and ability to execute and manage multiple competing priorities.  All venture studio team members must also be committed to a mission-driven, collaborative, open and high performing team culture within the studio.

This position will be based in the Delta40 office in Nairobi, Kenya, and will work closely with our team and partners across Africa.  Some domestic and pan-African travel may be required.
