Senior Occupational Health and Safety Manager
to lead our safety and compliance strategy, ensuring the well-being of our employees and alignment with both local and international safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the company's
Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)
systems and frameworks. - Develop and enforce comprehensive safety management programs across all departments and project sites.
- Conduct high-level risk assessments, compliance audits, and incident investigations.
- Ensure adherence to
OSHA 2007
,
Environmental Management and Coordination Act (EMCA 1999)
, and other relevant legal requirements. - Provide strategic guidance to senior management on safety performance and regulatory compliance.
- Build capacity by training and mentoring OHS teams and line managers.
- Oversee emergency preparedness, crisis management, and business continuity planning.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies such as
DOSHS
,
NEMA
, and
County Health Departments
on compliance and certification matters.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in
Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering
, or related field (Master's degree is an added advantage). - Minimum of
7 years' progressive experience
in OHS or HSE management, with at least
3 years in a senior leadership role
. - Valid
OSH certification from DOSHS
and membership in a recognized safety professional body (e.g., IOSH, IIRSM, or KISOH). - In-depth knowledge of local and international HSE laws, standards, and best practices (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO
- Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills with proven ability to influence organizational culture.
