Job Summary:

The CBS Support Specialist is responsible for providing technical and functional support for the Core Banking System (CBS) and ensuring seamless daily operations across all banking functions. This role involves resolving system issues, managing CBS configurations, supporting end users, ensuring data integrity, and working closely with vendors and internal departments to enhance system performance and user experience.

Key Responsibilities:

1. System Support and Troubleshooting

  • Provide first- and second-level support for CBS users across departments.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve system errors, bugs, and operational issues.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to CBS vendors or third-level support teams.

2. User Management and Access Control

  • Create, modify, and manage user profiles and role-based access controls in CBS.
  • Ensure proper authorization levels and enforce segregation of duties.
  • Monitor and audit user activities to maintain security compliance.

3. System Configuration and Maintenance

  • Perform routine CBS configurations based on business needs
  • Conduct daily and periodic system checks.
  • Coordinate system updates, patches, and version upgrades with vendors.

4. Functional Support and Training

  • Support end users in navigating the CBS and understanding system functionalities.
  • Provide training and user guides to new and existing staff.
  • Serve as the point of contact for CBS-related inquiries and change requests.

5. Integration and Testing

  • Assist in integration of CBS with third-party systems such as mobile banking, ATM, payment gateways, and reporting tools.
  • Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and rollout of new modules or features.
  • Document test results and ensure issues are addressed before deployment.

6. Reporting and Documentation

  • Generate system and regulatory reports.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of CBS configurations, support activities, and change logs.
  • Prepare incident and performance reports for management review.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience supporting a Core Banking/Financial Systems.
  • Solid understanding of banking operations and financial systems.
  • Experience with SQL scripting, database queries, and system logs analysis.
  • Familiarity with integration protocols (REST/SOAP APIs, ISO 8583) is an added advantage.
