Presales Engineer – Infrastructure
Role Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Presales Engineer – Infrastructure to join our technical team. This role is responsible for supporting the sales cycle through expert-level solution design, technical advisory, and customer engagement across enterprise infrastructure technologies.
The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on expertise with Dell, HPE, RedHat, Veeam, VMware and Nutanix technologies, combined with the ability to translate business needs into scalable infrastructure architectures. You will act as a technical authority during client engagements, partnering closely with the sales team to craft compelling infrastructure solutions that meet performance, security, and budget requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Pre-Sales & Solution Architecture
- Engage directly with customers to assess infrastructure requirements, pain points, and transformation goals.
- Design, validate, and present infrastructure solutions across compute, storage, virtualization, networking, and backup domains.
- Deliver technical presentations, demonstrations, and Proof of Concept (POC) engagements.
- Develop high-level and detailed solution architectures, including BoMs, sizing guides, and deployment recommendations.
2. Commercial & Bid Support
- Work closely with sales teams to qualify opportunities and recommend the most suitable technology stack.
- Prepare proposals, technical responses for RFPs/RFQs, and pricing configurations aligned with vendor guidelines.
- Support commercial negotiations by defining scope boundaries, deployment assumptions, and cost structures.
3. Vendor, OEM & Partner Management
- Maintain strong technical and commercial relationships with key OEMs including Dell, HPE, RedHat, Veeam, Arista, and other ecosystem partners.
- Stay updated on product roadmaps, licensing models, and market trends across infrastructure technologies.
- Leverage vendor programs for deal registrations, POCs, certifications, and partner rebates.
4. Internal Enablement & Compliance
- Provide internal training sessions on new infrastructure technologies, best practices, and solution offerings.
- Ensure proposed solutions comply with industry standards, customer policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Support handover to delivery teams and participate in project scoping to ensure solution accuracy.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Experience
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in infrastructure presales, solution consulting, or enterprise systems engineering.
- Strong background in designing solutions within:
- Server & compute platforms (Dell PowerEdge, HPE ProLiant)
- Storage architectures (SAN, NAS, Nutanix HCI)
- Virtualization & OS (VMware, Hyper-V, RedHat)
- Enterprise networking (Arista, Cisco, HPE/Aruba) – are an added advantage
- Backup & DR (Veeam, Dell Data Protection, HPE Data Services)
- Demonstrated capability in customer engagement, solution presentations, and POCs

Certifications (Highly Preferred)
- Dell EMC Proven certifications (e.g., DCA, DCP)
- HPE ATP/ASE credentials
- RedHat certifications (RHCSA, RHCE)
- Nutanix (HCI)
- Veeam VMCE
- Arista ACE/ACS
- VMware VCP or equivalent virtualization certifications
- Additional cloud or networking certifications are an added advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong solution design experience across infrastructure, virtualization, data protection, and networking.
- Ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent proposal writing, presentation, and customer-facing communication skills.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to align solutions to business value.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple opportunities and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
