Starting from £18,667 with annual progression through the scheme duration.

What You'll Be Doing

• Reading and interpreting engineering & assembly drawings, tolerances, materials and geometry.
• Develop competence in operating manual & CNC machines including lathes & milling machines working within tight tolerances and high level of Quality to produce components and parts to support the installation of equipment on our Type 26 ships.
• Gain experience in selecting tools, fixtures, jigs and manipulate setting speeds, feeds and calibration of tooling.
• Develop ability to program and adjust CNC machines using CAD/CAM software to program specific parts and also adjust existing CNC programs including speeds, tool paths and feed.
• Gain additional experience in using Measuring equipment like micrometres, callipers and gauges.
• Gain experience in problem solving and process improvement.

• National Certificate in Mechanical Engineering
• (Optional Higher National Certificate in Mechanical Engineering)
• Level 7 Engineering Diploma Pathway C: Engineering Technical Support
