Meru, Kenya RebelsMarket Full time 900,000 - 1,200,000 per year

About the Role

We're looking for a Product Listing Specialist to help grow and maintain our online product catalog across multiple Shopify stores. This role combines attention to detail, aesthetic presentation, and modern AI-driven efficiency. You'll ensure every product — from handmade leather goods to seasonal apparel — is listed accurately, beautifully, and optimized for search and sales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Uploads: Add and update products in Shopify with accurate titles, variants, pricing, and tags.
  • AI-Enhanced Optimization: Use AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or others) to improve descriptions, fix incomplete data, rewrite product copy, or bulk-correct inconsistencies in spreadsheets.
  • Image Management: Upload and organize product images (front, back, side, close-up). Use AI tools to enhance, clean up, or verify the realism of images before publishing.
  • Descriptions & SEO: Write and optimize SEO-rich product titles, descriptions, and meta tags using AI-assisted keyword research and brand tone.
  • Data Accuracy: Cross-check product details (size, materials, colors) with source data and correct missing or mismatched information efficiently.
  • Collections & Categorization: Assign products to the right collections, ensuring discoverability and consistency across the store.
  • Quality Control: Regularly audit listings using AI or automation tools to identify errors, broken links, duplicates, or missing images.
  • Collaboration: Work with marketing, design, and operations teams to ensure products are launch-ready and visually aligned with the brand.
  • Reporting: Maintain a structured tracker (Google Sheets) of listings in progress, pending review, and published.

Requirements

  • Experience with Shopify Admin or similar eCommerce platforms.
  • Proficiency with AI tools to edit copy, clean data, generate text, and solve small workflow problems.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work from structured product data or vendor sheets.
  • Excellent written English and understanding of product SEO.
  • Comfort with Google Sheets, Canva, and basic file management tools.
  • Aesthetic eye for visual presentation and brand consistency.
  • Ability to take ownership, meet deadlines, and continuously improve processes using AI.

Nice to Have

  • Basic photo editing (e.g., removing backgrounds, brightness adjustment).
  • Familiarity with ChatGPT or Gemini prompts for eCommerce workflow automation.
  • Experience working with fashion, handmade, or leather product brands.

What Success Looks Like

  • Products go live on time with accurate data, clean imagery, and SEO-ready descriptions.
  • AI tools are used daily to speed up work, fix issues independently, and improve listing quality.
  • Listings feel cohesive, branded, and conversion-ready.
  • You actively suggest ways to automate or streamline repetitive tasks.
