CHEF (KIJIJI RESORT) – CKR-24-1 (1 position)
The job holder shall be responsible for creating appetizing dishes for diners to enjoy. Their duties include overseeing kitchen staff to ensure that the kitchen runs effectively. He/she should be an expert in different cuisines, food quality and operating kitchen equipment. The suitable candidate must have at least a Diploma in the culinary field, able to work long hours, knowledge of food hygiene and other HACCP practices and must have worked in the same position for at least 3 years. Knowledge of baking and pastry will be an added advantage.
Main Responsibilities:

Ensure kitchen standards are maintained and adhered to.
Develop new seasonal menus from time to time and be conversant with different cuisines.
Organize and plan for happy hours as well as daily specials.
Ensure kitchen standardization is adhered to in all productions.
Ensure zero kitchen shortages through portion and pilferages control systems.
Inspect supplies, equipment and work areas for cleanliness and functionality.
Implement and maintain food quality and kitchen safety standards.
Order and maintain the kitchen food cost at the industry market level.
Interact and get feedback from clients on the quality of food and service rendered.
Ensure excellent food plating, presentation and garnishing before the food leaves the kitchen.
Prepare weekly and monthly reports on the progress of the kitchen and food costs, among other reports to management.
Develop and grow other kitchen staff.
Any other duty as may be allocated by the supervisor from time to time
