JOB SUMMARY
Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing and Supplies ManagementRegistered member of a Procurement Professional BodyIT proficientExperience & Skills:Minimum of five (5) years’ work experience in purchasing and supplies management within a large organisationProven work experience as a Procurement Specialist or in a similar roleGlobal sourcing, in-depth understanding of procurement principles, best practices, and contract administrationFamiliarity with relevant legislative and regulatory requirementsUnderstanding of standard contractual terms and conditions to mitigate legal riskKnowledge of International logistics and regulatory compliance is an added advantageGood working knowledge of purchasing strategiesStrong analytical thinking and problem-solving skillsMust exhibit a flexible work attitude with the ability to work productively both in a team environment and independently to meet unexpected demandsBe client centric and resourceful in problem-solvingPossess strong interpersonal, communication, presentation and negotiation skillsExperience in the telecommunication industry is preferredProficient in ERP systems (NetSuite) is an added advantage
RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure effective implementation of procurement policies and plans to acquire high-quality materials, goods and servicesCollaborate with relevant departments to determine the company’s procurement needs and specificationsWork closely with the projects team to forecast procurement requirementsIdentify potential suppliers and support in the prequalification and onboarding processesConduct supplier benchmarking and market surveys to ensure we have an updated supplier databaseSupport in the bidding process, including the preparation of Request for Quotation (RFQ), Request for Proposal (RFP) incorporating terms of reference (TOR) etcSupport in technical and financial analysis of procurement dealsNegotiate purchase terms and conditionsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure contractual obligations align with the company objectivesEvaluate, negotiate and maintain contracts with vendorsPrepare and issue purchase orders and agreements and monitor NetSuite purchase order approvals ensuring timely processingSupport in cost optimisation through liaison with cross functional departmentsAnalyse industry and demand trends and support senior management with the development and implementation of sourcing strategiesSupport in tracking inventory levels, replenishment of goods as needed and ensuring accurate records in NetSuiteGenerate and manage daily, monthly, and quarterly procurement reportsAnalyse, evaluate and monitor supplier performance to drive continuous improvementSupport in logistics operations including shipping, local customs clearance and deliveryEnsure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations governing procurement activitiesDevelop efficient procurement solutions to enhance operational effectivenessBuild and maintain positive relationships with vendors to secure favorable pricing on products
