Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology is situated in Juja, 36 kilometres North East of Nairobi, along Nairobi-Thika Highway. It was started in 1981 as a Middle Level College (Jomo Kenyatta College of Agriculture and Technology (JKCAT)) by the Government of Kenya with the generous assistance from the Japanese Government.

Requirements
Reporting to the respective Deputy Vice Chancellor, the ideal candidates must:
Possess a PhD in a relevant area from a recognized institution and
Have five (5) years’ experience in Grade 14 or equivalent
OR
Possess Master’s Degree in a relevant area from a recognized institution and
Have seven (7) years’ experience in Grade 14
Applicants who have acted as Registrar, Grade 15 for at least six months will have an added advantage
In addition, all applicants must:
Have attended management training(s) on modern management techniques including relevant aspects of Information Technology, Human Resource, Planning, Financial management, Research, Production and Extension
Have wide experience in the management and processes of Institutions of higher learning
Demonstrated leadership qualities
Have a good understanding and experience in Corporate Management
Be conversant with the requirements of Kenyan Constitution, National Laws and Policies governing University education
Have a track record in the management of change and translation of ideas into valued outputs
Be of the highest ethical standards, integrity and professionalism
Be a member of a relevant Professional Body where applicable
