Inkomoko provides a combination of training, consulting, access to finance, and market-level systems change. We are the largest lender to refugee entrepreneurs in Africa. Inkomoko has +250 staff in 20 offices across Rwanda, Kenya, and Ethiopia, and is expanding in 2023 into South Sudan. Through Inkomoko’s 2030 strategic plan, we are adding 4 additional countries to serve more than 550,000 entrepreneurs and growing our $30M loan fund.

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the finance Assistant will support the team in book-keeping, accounting and general administration duties.  The main responsibilities include the following: Minimum QualificationsSuccessful candidates will have both technical skills in finance, plus alignment with company vision and values. Successful candidates must navigate fast-paced environments with enthusiasm and incredible attention to details.  Minimum qualifications include:University degree in Finance, Accounting, or related fieldProfessional qualification (CPA, ACCA, CIFA or CFA) will be an added advantage.At least two years work experience in finance, with previous experience in AR/APSkilled in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power-point presentationAnalytical skills with the ability to pay attention to detailsAbility to meet deadlines and work independently with the highest level of personal integrityEnglish and country’s national language fluency is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

BOOKKEEPING & ACCOUNTING (70% time)Post transactions in the systemPerform accounts reconciliation for non-significant accountsEnsure all transactions are properly supportedSupport in preparation of bank reconciliationsSupport in preparation of prepayments and accrualsADMINISTRATION (30%)Work with AR/AP Associate to ensure effective invoicing, payment recording, and receipt. Manage staff advance reconciliationsManage filing of supporting documentsWork with the Admin and procurement officer to manage relationship with suppliersSupport the Senior Accountant and Finance Manager as requiredOther duties as may be required from time to time
