Job Description

The main role of the Solutions Architect – Manager Services is to collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop strategies, innovative designs, and an architectural vision for complex solutions that meet client requirements. This role involves providing comprehensive consulting services across application software, infrastructure, and related technology components.

The Solutions Architect – Managed Services offers primarily pre-sales technical support for the creation and implementation of advanced products, applications, and solutions. Utilizes extensive product knowledge to deliver technical expertise to sales teams and customers through presentations and demonstrations. Assists sales teams in assessing the potential application of company products to fulfill customer needs and may prepare detailed product specifications for developing and implementing customer products, applications, or solutions. The Solutions Architect – Managed Services could also craft detailed design and implementation specifications for intricate products, applications, or solutions. They may develop a prototype application based on client needs to showcase feasibility, often requiring rapid prototyping and product demonstrations for clients. Additionally, they might offer consultation to potential users and assess product capabilities and validation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Listen to and gather customer requirements, documenting the user/customer story.
  • Contribute to the creation of solution architectures in specific business, infrastructure, or functional areas.
  • Identify and assess alternative architectures and the trade-offs in cost, performance, and scalability.
  • Create specifications for cloud-based or on-premises components, tiers, and interfaces, for transformation into detailed designs using selected services and products.
  • Support a change program or project by developing technical plans and applying design principles that adhere to enterprise and solution architecture standards.
  • Take charge of understanding client needs, collecting data, providing analysis, and resolving problems.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies by monitoring the external environment to gather intelligence.
  • Generate reports and technology roadmaps and share knowledge and insights with others.
  • Design components using appropriate modeling techniques following agreed architectures, design standards, patterns, and methodology.
  • Create multiple design views to address stakeholders' concerns and handle both functional and non-functional requirements, including proof of concept (POC).
  • Review, verify, and enhance own designs against specifications.
  • Contribute to the development of new go-to-market services and share knowledge on relevant verticals.
  • Collaborate with commercial Architects to develop cost and contract terms.
Skills, Knowledge, and Attributes
  • Strong knowledge of multi-vendor service integrations and cross-functional software, OS, and infrastructure designs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with deploying specific infrastructures and application software aligned with relevant methodologies and frameworks.
  • Capability to develop and leverage knowledge of reference architectures.
  • Maintain awareness of technology trends and developments in various domains.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills and act as an initiator.
Academic Qualifications and Certifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with 7 years of experience, or post-graduate degree with a minimum of 3 years of consulting experience/involvement in a vendor/partner environment.
  • Experience in sales of platform-based managed services is advantageous.
  • Certifications with reputable global cloud services providers like AWS, Google, and Microsoft.
  • Certification and practical knowledge of ITIL, Service Management and Integration, Business Analysis -CBAP.
  • Scaled Agile certification/Scrum /PRINCE 2.
  • TOGAF certification would be beneficial.
Required Experience:
  • Proven professional experience in technical, IT, or Operations within a large-scale (preferably multi-national) technology services environment across Software Development, Application Support, and Infrastructure Support.
  • Preferably some background in Project or Program Management.
  • Demonstrated client engagement and consulting experience, along with expertise in assessing client needs and managing change.
  • Solid experience in integrating solutions for projects with business domain, enterprise concerns, industry standards, established patterns, and best practices.
  • Experience working in an agile development setting.
