Summary Of Duties:

  • Coordinate WHO's support to the Ministry of Health in conducting a Malaria vaccination situation and rollout analysis.
  • Set up/strengthen a partners' coordination mechanism for Malaria vaccination.
  • Develop microplans in provinces/regions with low coverage involving local stakeholders.
  • Support the National Malaria Control Programme in updating prevalence stratification.
  • Prepare and implement mass vaccination plans and intensify routine immunization interventions.
  • Ensure an effective AEFI surveillance and management system.
  • Coordinate support for post-introduction evaluation.
  • Coordinate advocacy efforts for Malaria vaccines.
  • Review malaria vaccine coverage data monthly and devise methods for optimal uptake.
  • Perform other tasks related to Malaria vaccination rollout as requested.

Deliverables:

  • Conduct analysis of Malaria vaccination situation and rollout with vaccine delivery strategies.
  • Provide Malaria stratified data for disease burden categorization.
  • Prepare monthly reports on Malaria vaccination rollout, including updates on vaccine delivery and coverage.
  • Develop microplans for regions with low vaccination coverage.
  • Update 4Ws monthly.
  • Hold partners' coordination meetings bi-weekly.
  • Produce end of mission report.

Requirements:

Skills And Qualifications:

  • Expert knowledge of at least one WHO official language.
  • Strong analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective diplomatic skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to lead diverse teams.
  • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships at all levels.
  • Strong representation, communication, and negotiation abilities.
  • Organizational skills for coordination of multiple activities.
  • Innovative, creative, and proactive approach.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make independent decisions.
  • Meet deadlines and work collaboratively under pressure.

Required Profile:

  • Interest in Malaria Vaccines Introduction.
  • Willingness to be deployed in countries needing technical support.

Education (Qualifications):

  • Essential: Advanced university degree in medicine or related field.
  • Desirable: Advanced degree in public health, vaccinology, or epidemiology.

Experience:

  • Essential: 7+ years of relevant work experience in public health.
  • Experience in introducing new vaccines and working with stakeholders.

Desirable:

  • International experience with WHO in Africa and developing countries.
  • Training in new vaccine introductions and experience with funding requirements.
  • Operational experience with new vaccine introductions.
  • Track record of publications.

Other Skills:

  • Proficiency in standard office software packages.
  • Familiarity with common IT software and eHealth tools.
