At Pula, we are revolutionizing agricultural insurance by leveraging technology to provide insurance to the previously underserved market of 1.5 billion smallholder farmers worldwide.
We operate in eight countries across Africa and Asia, and in 2017 alone, we provided crop and livestock insurance coverage to over 600,000 farmers in Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, Nigeria, Ethiopia, and Malawi.


Responsibilities:

  • Participate in field agents recruitment, training, and management.
  • Assist in client training, mobilization, and workshops.
  • Manage and support crop cut exercises and yield index insurance payouts.
  • Handle data collection, management, and refinement of study design.
  • Coordinate with client field staff and insurance auditors.
  • Address and escalate field issues promptly.
  • Assist in project budgeting, expense recording, and reconciliation.
  • Conduct internal data audits when necessary.
  • Resolve customer complaints from farmers and stakeholders.
  • Support product launches as required.
  • Identify and report on staff performance.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with all stakeholders.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • BSc degree in Project Management, Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in working with clients, project teams, farmers, and agro dealers.
  • Location in specific areas within Kenya.
  • Proficiency in data collection and management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Intermediate Excel skills are a plus.

Our team is deeply rooted in field work and hires from the regions we operate in. Candidates comfortable with local languages and rural environments are preferred. The role demands frequent communication via conference calls and various mediums, requiring good planning for consistent connectivity despite challenges in rural regions.
