ABOUT THE COMPANY
The Global Programs Office, Kenya facilitates the expanded presence and operations for researchers from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and its affiliates in Kenya. We work in collaboration with key partners including the Ministry of Health, Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI), donors and other local partners to implement programs and ensure project goals are met.
Located in Nairobi and Kisumu, our project staff has expertise in surveillance, epidemiology, monitoring and evaluation, training and capacity building and health informatics.
JOB SUMMARY
Required QualificationsA minimum of two years recent experience as a staff nurse in an acute care hospital, one of which is a year of recent experience in critical care with demonstrated knowledge of homodynamic monitoringCath Lab experience is vastly preferred.Minimum of 3-5 years combined experience in healthcare industryBachelor's degree. Minimum of five (5) years clinical experience in nursing or equivalent professional experiencePossess the knowledge of both diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac catheterization procedures and techniques, which includes equipment, accessories, surgical procedures, sterile technique, patient assessment and nursing intervention.Full command both verbal and written, of the English language.The physical dexterity and perceptive acuity (i.e., visual, and hearing) to satisfactorily perform all required duties.TrainingPreferred QualificationsCath Lab experience is vastly preferred.License/CertificationActive Registered Nurse licensure in the State of CaliforniaActive American Heart Association CPR Certification
RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the Director or designee, the staff nurse provides and documents, goals-oriented nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in accordance with the philosophy and policies of St. Mary's Medical Center.The staff nurse utilizes principles of the nursing process and coordinates clinically related activities to provide for the effective delivery of healthcare. Responsible to supervise the care given by the Licensed Vocational Nurses, Licensed Psychiatric Technicians. Hospital/Psychiatric Attendants, and other working under his/her direction.
