Management Accountant at

Janta Kenya is a Human Resources (HR) Consultancy firm established with the aim of providing essential skills needed by individuals and organizations in day-to-day business operations.



Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and monitor annual budgets to support management in decision-making and ensure alignment between revenue and expenditure.
  • Provide financial planning and control advice to management by preparing monthly management accounting reports.
  • Implement cost accounting procedures and methods.
  • Analyze business activity costs such as inventory and labor.
  • Prepare and analyze cost reports, comparing factors affecting product prices and profitability.
  • Ensure minimal variance between actual and standard costs.
  • Advise on product profitability, pricing structures, and contract price renewals.
  • Conduct cost analysis and allocations for distribution and manufacturing.
  • Report gross margins weekly, monthly, quarterly, and periodically by brand and customer.
  • Conduct detailed account analysis and reconcile sales, cost, inventory, and liability accounts.
  • Participate in cost-saving projects.
  • Prepare financial reports, including the Monthly Budget Control.
  • Review standard and actual costs for variances and report to management.
  • Apply overhead costs as per accounting principles.
  • Ensure accurate submission of inventory and gross margin schedules.
  • Assist in pricing various products.
  • Establish and review performance standards with a focus on cost implications.
  • Monitor organization-wide Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to cost, productivity, efficiency, quality, and timelines.
  • Undertake special projects as assigned by management.

Requirements:
Skill & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in cost management.
  • CIMA/ CPA(K)/ACCA qualification or equivalent.
  • Strong numeric abilities.
  • Advanced computer skills.

Other Desirable Attributes:
  • Prior experience in Financial Accounting or internal control frameworks preferred.
  • Strong logical thinking, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Fluency in English (listening, speaking, writing).
  • Ownership mentality, proactive attitude, and teamwork skills.
