Job Overview

Role Purpose

  • To reach sales targets for Export Vegs segment & Biologicals by managing assigned accounts strategically in line with the BA objectives
  • To play a key role in shaping a Biologicals Marketing strategy in Kenya, identifying opportunities for Syngenta Bio products & Valagro portfolio and setting timelines for Bio portfolio launch.
  • To contribute to formulating the new Syngenta Biologicals Operating model, particularly focusing on GTM & Channel strategy post-Valagro integration.
  • To execute the agreed strategy, monitor its effectiveness, and make adjustments when necessary.
  • To actively participate in defining the overall strategy as a leader within the Kenyan sales organization.
  • To collaborate closely with other departments such as Marketing, Commercial Ops, CPD, and Finance to ensure seamless alignment in business operations.

Responsibilities

  • To drive growth in the Export Vegs segment & Biologicals business in Kenya, taking into account and managing all financial risks involved.
  • To develop detailed Key Account plans, regularly update them, and implement sales & budget plans to achieve targeted market share.
  • To work closely with Commercial Operations & Marketing teams to shape the Biologicals marketing strategy and the upcoming Syngenta Biologicals Operating model.
  • To cultivate expertise in biologicals and act as a local Biologicals sales champion, supporting the Kenya team as needed.
  • To collaborate with Commercial Operations team on customer targeting and sales tracking within the segment.
  • To stay abreast of competitor offerings and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • To nurture relationships with distributors, customize value propositions, and ensure successful business partnerships.
  • To maintain accurate records of all sales activities within the designated territory on SFDC.
  • To operate in compliance with commercial policies, HSE requirements, local laws, and competition regulations.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential Experience and Expertise

  • In-depth knowledge of the agricultural sales landscape in Eastern Africa, sales methodologies, and approaches.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Language proficiency in Swahili and English.
  • Key sales management skills with a solid grasp of customer requirements and market dynamics.
  • Familiarity with the competitive agricultural sector.
  • Minimum undergraduate degree in BSc. Agriculture.
