ABOUT THE COMPANY

The Kenya Vision 2030 is the national long-term development policy that aims to transform Kenya into a newly industrializing, middle-income country providing a high quality of life to all its citizens by 2030 in a clean and secure environment. The Vision comprises of three key pillars: Economic; Social; and Political. The Economic Pillar aims to achieve an average economic growth rate of 10 per cent per annum and sustaining the same until 2030.

The Social Pillar seeks to engender just, cohesive and equitable social development in a clean and secure environment, while the Political Pillar aims to realize an issue-based, people-centered, result-oriented and accountable democratic system. The three pillars are anchored on the foundations of macroeconomic stability; infrastructural development; Science, Technology and Innovation (STI); Land Reforms; Human Resources Development; Security and Public Sector Reforms.

JOB SUMMARY

Job SpecificationsFor appointment to this role, a candidate must have;-Diploma in any of the following disciplines:- Communication/Public Relations, Business Administration or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;Bachelor's degree in any of the following disciplines:- Mass Communication, Corporate Communication, Development Communication, Journalism, Media Studies, Public Relations, or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution. (Added advantage).At least 1 year experience in a similar position in the public or private sector.Certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution, andShown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results

RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Public Relations and Communication Officer, the duties and responsibilities for this role will entail:-Collecting data for promoting communication of Vision 2030 programmes and projects locally and internationally;Implementing public relations and communication programmes and projects to support Vision 2030;Collecting data for developing proposals for sourcing appropriate media to disseminate information on activities of the Secretariat.Undertaking public relations research to develop and execute sound corporate public relations and communication strategies for Vision 2030;Participating in organizing public events;Preparing and organizing for press/media briefings and speeches on the 1st July, 2024 organization's activities;Preparing radio and television infomercials.Writing reports of the various activities carried out including editing reports and analyzing material generated by experts working for Vision 2030;Compiling the material into booklets, documentaries.Collecting information for the preparation of the Secretariat's newsletter and supplements;Organizing corporate social responsibility projects and programmes; andAny other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
