JOB SUMMARY
CrossBoundary is recruiting a Financial Accountant to join our team in Nairobi.The duties of the Financial Accountant will revolve around ensuring that the business is operating effectively and efficiently. Main responsibilities will include managing accounting records, evaluating, and managing risk, ensuring compliance with regulations, publishing financial statements, overseeing accounting operations, analyzing financial data, monitoring expenditure, forecasting revenue, coordinating auditing processes, and ensuring accuracy of financial information. The Accountant will work directly with the Finance and Operations Manager and management team to dynamically run the business both locally and internationally.Who You AreYou are a self-starter who is passionate about creating lasting change within emerging marketsYou have a background in accounting for businesses who operate in AfricaYou possess excellent attention to detail, but are solution-oriented and able to operate in environments that are constantly changingYou are comfortable managing multiple work streams simultaneously, and can prioritise and effectively deliver on tasks within the deadlineYou are interested in leveraging automated systems/ platforms to streamline processes QualificationsIdeal candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:Bachelor's degree in accounting or financeCertified public accountant (CPA, K) or ACCA qualification3 –4 years' post qualifying experience
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for all aspects of financial reporting including monthly closings, monthly/ quarterly financial statement preparation, financial and statutory audit, general ledger, fixed assets, accounts receivable and accounts payableEnsure all transactions are recorded and coded accurately in Sage X3Perform bank reconciliationsPerform intercompany reconciliationsPrepare consolidated accountsPrepare tax returnsLiaise with the accountants in country to ensure local accounts are prepared timeously and accuratelyReview and approve local tax submissionsReview local accountsPrepare monthly invoicing runProcess weekly payment runsMonitor accounts to ensure payments are up to dateMaintain asset register Provide information to external auditors for the annual auditAssist with opening of new entities in new geographiesAssist with opening of bank accountsAssist with other administration/ operational functionsAd Hoc duties and support to the broader team
